2010 Race Information

To all past and future Twelve Mile Lawnmower racers: This year will bring many changes to the Twelve Mile 500. I urge you to read ALL the rules as many have changed.

1. We have contracted a vendor to electronically score the race. With a paid entry, each racer will receive a bracket to attach to their mower above the front axle to hold the supplied transponder. This will allow us to track laps with the system. This will eliminate the lap counters. After each race, all mowers will return to their pit stall for a top five place post race inspection and transponder collection. The vendor will need a credit card or driver’s license in exchange for the transponder. When you return it, you get your card or license back. You are responsible for the transponder during the race, so secure it well! They are $300 to replace.

2. With the full field in the Briggs class last year, we decided to split the Briggs class into two separate classes: Briggs and Super Stock. The Super stock will be for mowers with centrifugal clutch/torque converter drives or those not utilizing the entire original mower frame. The Briggs class rules will remain the same and it must look like a lawnmower to race in this class. See rule #1. We will practice and qualify by class. Each mower will draw a number for the qualification line up. We will stage mowers in the pits for their qualification attempt and qualify in the order of Briggs, Super Stock, and Modified.
